The I Recycle Hub is a product of Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited and is a first-of-its-kind for Fiji and the Pacific region.
The name “I Recycle” was drawn from WRFL/PRF’s first global recycling day theme.
The I Recycle Hub represents years of lessons learned through the journey of WRFL as a recyclable collection and processing company.
The Hub is a brainchild of the WRFL core team aimed at durability, particularly based on the general culture of handling bins, wear and tear as well as effects of weather.
The I Recycle Hub bins are designed and built in-house by WRFL. With WRFL’s extensive experience in the industry, the team at WRFL ensured that the I Recycle Hub bin’s design can withstand tropical weather conditions which is the main factor of wear & tear in our tropical climate.
The “I-Recycle Hub” will act as a collection point which signifies a brand for recycling to bring recycling to the forefront of communities and organizations.
Giving recycling a fresh and brand-new image and perspective against traditional and impractical practices and views associated with waste management. We share the same sustainability goals and the initiative to protect our environment.
The I-Recycle Hub will consist of 3 to a maximum of 6 “recycle boxes” tailor-made by WRFL to house the different recyclables and a sorting table for ease of separating the collected recyclables.
Depending on where the designated area would be for the I-Recycle Hub. It is requested that a housing unit or shed be allocated to protect the recyclables from getting wet in the rain.
WRFL staff will provide training to the Office & Warehouse staff or a designated personnel who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the particular establishment. It is important to note that each setup will vary depending on the requirements of your company, WRFL will assess the area to get specifics of what needs to be done.

Fabrication
Mild Steel, coated with rust guards, 2-pack automotive paint with clear protective gloss on top complete with signages and labels.
The materials used to construct the bins are carefully selected by our engineers from reputable hardware shops in Fiji. This is to ensure that the bins are durable and can take on the many recyclables that will be fed into the different compartments of the bins.
The bin weighs approximately 150 to 200 kilograms and due to its size, the loading, transport, and off-loading of these bins require a hiab truck.
Each bin takes two to three weeks to build, subject to material availability.
The Hubs are colour-coated for ease of understanding the different types of recyclables that need to be separated to go into which compartment.
The paint used is suitable for all weather ensuring that it has a life span of a maximum of 10 years or more.
The I Recycle Hub is aimed at bringing individual ownership to the recycling program as well as ensuring that local voices in recycling are not drowned.
